Last Friday was Dr. Nancy Vaughn's last working day as Interim Superintendent for the Quitman Independent School District. Vaughn resigned from the district last Monday after a lengthy executive session with the board. Denny Lind, Quitman's high school principal, is severing as acting Superintendent. The school board is expected to meet tonight to make a formal designation of an interim Superintendent. Lind said the district has hired the Texas Association of School Boards to begin a search for a permanent replacement. Vaughn took over as interim following the resignation of long-time Superintendent Bill Travis earlier this year. |
