How much money can you make with a pair of scissors and some hair clippers? Wood County Sheriff’s Department and the Fraternal Order of Police raised over $1200, all for one of their own in need. Just a few weeks ago, Deputy Shannon Love was diagnosed with advanced cancer. Now that chemotherapy has robbed him of his hair, his friends have decided to show solidarity and lose their hair as well. The money was raised from shaving heads and bonds on City and County Officials. The next fund raiser by Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Fraternal Order of Police will be on May 23, at Jim Hogg park on Hwy 37 in Quitman Concert in the Park from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with a concert in the park. Other activities will be a blood drive, bake sale, silent auction. Motorcycle Fun Run and food and fun. |
