What Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies originally thought would be an arrest for theft, turned into something more. Deputies originally went to a residence on Van Zandt County Road 3810 to serve a felony warrant on David Lee Langley. Deputies Lt. Cody Grubbs and Narcotics Investigator Rusty Grimes accompanied Langley to his bedroom so that he could change clothes to be transported to the Van Zandt County Justice Center. While in the bedroom, officers spotted a syringe on the dresser containing a clear colored liquid. A glass pipe (type used to smoke narcotics with) was also found lying on top of a black colored bag setting on the floor. Numerous other syringes were found. Langley was booked in the Van Zandt County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance (PG 1 >=1G<4G), as well as, the original charge of theft of property greater than $1,500 and less than $20,000. Bond was set at $25,000 for each charge. |
