Van Zandt County voters defeated all three local options to sell alcoholic beverages in Precinct 1 Tuesday evening. On Proposition 1, allowing the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption, voters cast 1,001 for and 1,442 against the issue. Proposition 2 allowing the sale of all types of alcohol for off-premise sales failed by a similar margin with 943 votes in favor of the proposition and 1,476 votes against it. Proposition 3, which would have allowed the sale of beer and wine in restaurants, had the closest margin, but failed as well with 1,097 cast in favor of the issue and 1,335 opposed to it.
