There is a new principal coming to Lindale's intermediate school. Former Lindale Independent School District superintendent Barbara Wilson has been named E.J. Moss Intermediate School’s interim principal. Wilson will begin her duties on December 7. She will continue her interim role until the end of the school year. Mrs. Wilson temporarily replaces Mike Griffin who announced his retirement in October. Mr. Griffin served the district for a total of 16 years as principal. Barbara Wilson served as superintendent for Lindale schools from 1995-1997. She has also served as a teacher, counselor, curriculum director and assistant superintendent for LISD. She dedicated 25 years of service to the district before retiring in 1997. “Mrs. Wilson was the perfect fit for our long-term plan,” LISD Superintendent Stan Surratt said. “This will enable the district to accept applications for a permanent principal into the spring semester. We hope to name the permanent principal in April. Mr. Griffin has been a great leader for E.J. Moss and the district for many years. He will truly be missed.” “Mrs. Wilson has the people-skills and experience to jump right in and be a great administrator for E.J. Moss,” Surratt said. “Everyone throughout the district is ecstatic about her rejoining our team.” “After 25 years in the school district I felt a loyalty to the schools and the district needed me,” Mrs. Wilson said of her decision to temporarily step out of retirement. “I just love this district so much. I just never got the schools out of my system.”
