|Motorcycle-pedestrian crash kills one near Mineola|

One man is dead and another in serious condition after a motrocycle-pedestrain accident last night just east of Mineola.
According to the Mineola Fire Department, the accident occurred at 11:27 p.m. on HWY 80 just west of FM 1804. Authorities say 35-year-old Kevin Dale Worsham of Quitman left a party at a home off of HWY 80 and sat down in the middle of the road. Worsham was then struck by a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 62-year-old Herbert Wesley Owens of Alba, traveling wesbound on HWY 80. Worsham was pronounced dead at the scene by Wood County Precicnt 3 JP Clancy Holmes.
Owens was transported via helicopter to ETMC Tyler where he is in critical condition with a fractured skull today. DPS says Owens was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
It is believed the man sitting on the highway was texting at the time of, or just before, the accident.
DPS Trooper Gary Hayes Trooper is investigating the crash.
