Woman impersonating Officer wanted for theft

The Tyler Police Department is searching today for a woman who impersonated a police officer.

Police say, a Hispanic male was at a car was on Highway 31 West around 8 last night, when he was approached by a female claiming to be a police officer. The victim stated that an unknown white female with short brown hair, possibly in her 40’s, approximately 5’5” and 130 pounds, approached him as he was parked near the car vacuums. The woman presented a badge that led him to believe that she was a police officer and informed him that she was going to search his car or he was going to be arrested.

After searching his car, the suspect stole a few unknown items from the man and left in a dark colored compact vehicle.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department.
