Van Memorial Stadium will be pinked out Friday night during the football game against Brownsboro to raise awareness for Cancer Research.

“Brownsboro High School has joined us in ordering Pink Out Shirts,” said Shani Crow. “We will be splitting the proceeds with Brownsboro ISD.”

The T-shirts will read “Battle Pink Out” “2-Teams – 1-Cause”.

Our proceeds will be going to Joey Rowe and Brownsboro’s will be going to Susan G. Komen foundation in name of one of their teachers,” said Crow.

Joey Rowe is the ten-year-old son of David and Tammy Rowe. Joey a 5th grader at Van Middle School and is currently undergoing treatment for a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer described as a small cell grade three tumor. “Joey loves hunting, fishing, playing guitar and riding horses with his sisters,” said April Bledsoe. “He loves sports and has played baseball and football for many years. He is such a special little guy with a smile that touches everyone who is lucky enough to meet him.”

Van ISD will also be taking donations for Joey at the gate Friday night before the game.
