All 4-H and FFA members wishing to show a market lamb, goat, or hog must have their animals/entries to the market show validation on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
The event will take place at the Van Zandt County fairgrounds from 8-11 am. Entry forms can be obtained from the County Extension office or your highschool Agricultural Agriculture Science Instructor. Entry fee is $20 per animal. This will also be the deadline to enter the market broiler show. Entry fee is $60 per pen of broilers (25 birds).
For 2013 - all 4-H/FFA members in Van Zandt County will be required to attend and pass the Quality Counts training and verification process. This must be done before the January 12th validation.
The program outcomes clearly demonstrate youth being more knowledgeable of best management practices associated with livestock projects. More importantly, the program’s impact has demonstrated positive changes in personal character attributes as well as adoption of livestock best management practices.
