Two people were hospitalized early New Years Day morning after a car accident in Mineola.

According to the Mineola Fire Department, two cars collided at the intersection of HWY 69 and HWY 37 just after 1 a.m.

Both drivers were transported by EMS to a Tyler hospital. According to family members, one of the drivers sustained a back injury and remains hospitalized.
