|Arrest made in VZ County sexual assault|

Van Zandt County authorities have arrested this suspect in an Aggravated Sexual Assault.
According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded Tuesday to the assault of an adult female in the Myrtle Springs community. After an extensive search for the suspect and minimal leads investigators continued their investigation well into the night. Eventually investigators were able to positively identify the suspect and his location. Investigators obtained a search and arrest warrant for 29-year-old Christopher Lee Pruitt.
Just after midnight this morning the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department, Van Zandt County DA Investigators, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety executed warrants and arrested Pruitt at a residence in the 2000 block of Payne St. in Hunt County.
Pruitt is a registered sex offender.
Van Zandt County Sheriff Lindsey Ray stated that this is a prime example of the hard work, long hours and dedication to the citizens of Van Zandt County. Sheriff Ray further stated, we will continue our efforts, and use all available resources to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Van Zandt County and cause maximum impact for the criminal violator to stop this kind of activity.
