WASHINGTON – Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) released the following statement regarding the shooting in Kaufman County:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic shooting yesterday morning in Kaufman County. Mark Hasse was, by all accounts, a selfless and dedicated civil servant who devoted his life to keeping the citizens of North and East Texas safe. Melissa and I join the citizens of Kaufman County in honoring Mark for his valiant service and offering our prayers of support and comfort to his friends and loved ones.
 
“I am confident that the Kaufman Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office, and all those involved in the manhunt will not rest until those responsible for this heinous murder are found and brought to justice.”
