|Two East Texans get ACM nods|

Two female country music artist’s born and raised in KMOO Country have been nominated as Female Vocalist of the Year for the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Miranda Lambert, of Lindale, a seasoned veteran on the national music scene and at the ACM Awards, received an astounding five nominations. Lambert was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Single Record of the Year, and twice nominated for Song of the Year for “Over You”. Lambert additionally received a nod for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, long time friend of Miranda’s and Golden native, Kacey Musgraves.
Musgraves received three other nominations, including New Female Vocalist of the Year, and twice nominated for Video of the Year for “Merry Go Round”, for artist and producer.
Kacey and her mother, Karen Musgraves were in New York Wednesday morning when they learned of the nominations.
“We were sitting in our hotel room,” said Kacey’s mom. “We somewhat expected the New Female Vocalist nomination, but when we heard the Female Vocalist of the Year announcement I had to look twice because I couldn’t believe it. It’s unbelievable. It’s wonderful.”
Kacey, who has spent the last several years under the wing of East Texas comrade Miranda Lambert, will now compete against the country music juggernaut for the honor of Female Vocalist of the Year.
The ACM Awards will air April 7, 2013 on CBS, from Las Vegas.
Musgraves will perform Wednesday night on NBC’s ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’. The show will air at 11:35 CST.
