|Car strikes pedestrian in Tyler|

An East Texas man was hospitaled Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Tyler.
According to Tyler Police, at around 6:17 a.m. Officers received information of a car-pedestrian collision at the intersection of University and Gail. Officers investigating the collision have determined that 21-year-old Jerry Daniel Chesshire stepped out into traffic and was struck by a vehicle.
Chesshire was transported by ambulance to Mother Frances Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police say the driver of the vehicle was not issued a citation.
