The new ETMC Quitman is up and running.
A dedication ceremony was held yesterday for the new hospital, which features new amenities, a trauma area and more patient rooms. The hospital will now allow thousands of Wood County Patients to stay in the county to receive necessary healthcare. The Wood County Health Care Foundation came forward with a generous donation and the new hospital is open for business. The $35 million tax exempt bond to build the hospital was approved in November 2012.
"Everyone on our team is excited about the move to the new facility," said Warren Robicheauz, Administrator of ETMC Quitman. "Many hours of planning have gone into the move, so we expect it to be a seamless process. As always, our focus will be our pateints. Whether they are inpatients or visiting our emergency department, we will make the transition as smooth as possible."
Patients will be welcomed to the hospital by a stone and glass donor wall recognizing all donors who made the new hospital possible.
