|SCSO investigates Troup shooting|

At approximately 8:50 pm on Sunday, June 13, 2014, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call stating that multiple shots had been fired in the 19000 block of CR 2343 north of Troup. Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the call along with EMS and officers with Troup Police Department, Arp Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officers arrived on scene to find two male victims, ages 38 and 48, who had been shot in their legs. The victims were transported by EMS to a Tyler hospital where they received treatment for their injuries. Witnesses stated that the shots were fired following an altercation involving one of the victims after which the suspects fled the premises.
At this time the investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.
