8:58am A man that owns a home on Wigley Street reported the tenants were destroying his rental property and
had tampered with the water meter. The water department was notified to check the meter and found it
had not been tampered with.

5:04pm Melissa Kay Tucker, 27 of Mineola was arrested for two Wood County warrants, Possession of a
Controlled Substance and Tampering with Evidence, after the officers received a tip that she was at a
business on NW Loop 564.

6:11pm Officers conducted a suspicious vehicle check at Wood County National Bank when a car was parked in the parking lot. Someone had ran out of gas.

6:44pm Officers attempted to assist with the vehicle broken down in the Wood County National Bank parking lot
after they found it was not out of gas. The officer took the woman to Walmart to get something to fix the
car, but that was unsuccessful. A friend picked the woman up.

10:43pm A reckless driver was reported on West Broad, heading eastbound at a high rate of speed. The officer found the vehicle and followed it, but did not witness a violation.

 

Friday, June 15, 2018

5:10am A man reported he was traveling into the city on North Pacific when an item fell off a truck hauling a
trailer and struck his vehicle. The officer stopped with the two vehicle at North Pacific and Greenville
Street while they exchanged information. The incident was found to have happened before the vehicles
entered the city limits.

9:38am An officer assisted a stranded motorist on South Pacific who was out of gas. The officer took the man to the convenience store to get gas and returned him to his vehicle.

1:04pm A business on the North West Loop 564 reported a theft. This is under investigation.

4:59pm A woman reported while at a traffic light at Broad Street and Pacific Street, her vehicle was struck frombehind. She had the license plate of the other vehicle that left the scene.

8:55pm Michael James Morrow, 32 of Canton was arrested for a Van Zandt County warrant for Theft, driving while
license invalid enhanced, operating motor vehicle without financial responsible and unregistered vehicle.
Passenger; Kimberly Ann Herring, 28 of Grand Saline was also arrested for possession of drug
paraphernalia. Morrow was stopped by an officer for a defective license plate light on West Broad.

 

Saturday, June 16, 2018

4:00am Wood County S.O. reported a call they received in reference to several males, possibly teenagers on the
roof of Paredes. An officer responded to the restaurant but did not find anyone at the time of his arrival.
5:13pm A woman reported she was assaulted by her husband at a residence on North Line Street. The case was
under investigation, but the woman decided she did not wish to file charges. A report was filed for family
violence purposes.

5:37pm An officer responded to University Street when a man reported he and his family were receiving threats. The officer found that the threats were not direct threats.

9:33pm A reckless driver was reported on West Broad headed eastbound that was unable to maintain a single
lane and driving at a high rate of speed. An officer attempted to locate the vehicle but was unable to find it.

11:22pm A man on Carolyn Street requested an officer to speak with him about marital issues and his rights with his children. He was advised it was a civil matter.

1:32pm A man reported suspicious males in a vehicle in the area of Nuss Drive taking pictures. The male subjects left the area before an officer arrived.

2:21pm A business on NE Loop 564 reported a theft that had occurred the day before. This is under investigation.

8:44pm A burn permit violation was reported on Wigley Street. An officer responded to the location and found the resident was burning in a Chiminea.

 

Monday, June 18, 2018

8:41am M.I.S.D. reported a student had made a threat of harming himself and possibly others. Investigators met with witnesses immediately. The incident is under investigation.

11:39am A business on NE Loop 564 reported a man walking through the parking lot with a crow bar. Officers
responded and found the man on North Pacific. The officers did not find a crow bar. Johnny Ray Tudor, 23
of Mineola was arrested for Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after officer found a
drug pipe in his pocket.

3:31pm A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street that was unable to maintain a single lane. An officer
responded and found the vehicle. After following the vehicle the officer did not witness a violation.
5:27pm A cart loaded with items for travel were located by a resident on West Buchanan. The officer transported
the items to the police department. The following morning a man came to the department and claimed
the items.

7:45pm Officers received a report of a person acting strange and possibly intoxicated in a vehicle at North Pacific
and Broad Street. When the officers responded and investigated the situation, the officers found alcohol,
pills and Methamphetamine in the vehicle. Stephanie Marie Loy, 39 of Mineola, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance under 28 grams and Possession of a Controlled Substance under 1 gram.

12:17pm A woman reported her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend fighting on Buchanan Street because the
daughter kept calling and the boyfriend would take the phone away and hang up. Officers responded and
found the two had an argument and the female was pushed. She did not wish to file charges. A report was
filed for family violence purposes.

2:16pm A woman on Kings Lane reported suspicious activity at her residence. She reported someone knocked on
the door and the electricity went off at the same time. An officer responded but did not find anyone in
the area.

4:53pm Darek Marcell Curts, 17 of Mineola and Chance Avery Briggs, 19 of Mineola turned themselves in at the
police department for an outstanding warrant for Theft over $100 under $750. The two were involved
together in stealing cases of beer from Walmart back in May of 2018.

8:12pm A resident reported a man acting strange on Kilpatrick Street. The man was reported to be yelling at
people and walking around carrying a guitar. An officer responded to the area and found the man. The
man left the area.

8:17pm Loud music was reported in the area of South Johnson. An officer found the music in the 700 Blk. South
Johnson. The resident turned the music down at the request of the officer and was verbally warned.

9:36pm A disturbance was reported on West Blair Street. A man reported his sister’s boyfriend came over and
threatened his sister and him. When the officers responded it was reported the woman was assaulted by
the boyfriend. This was investigated and the woman said she was not assaulted. A report was filed for
family violence purposes.

 

Wednesday, June 20 2018

1:09am A reckless driver was reported westbound on East Broad Street. The vehicle reportedly came over into
the eastbound lane. An officer responded to the call but could not find the vehicle. The officer searched
East Broad and West Broad.

2:10am Officers responded to a residence on Wren Street to assist EMS with a medical call. A 63 year old man was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Jerry Parker.

2:17pm A woman reported a fraudulent scam. The woman received a call from another woman identifying herself
as an employee of the electric company. The woman told the victim that she was going to have her
electricity turned off if she did not pay. She was instructed to go the dollar store and get prepaid cards,
then call them back with the PIN number.

A WARNING FROM THE MINEOLA POLICE DEPARTMENT: Please know that anytime you are told to get
pre-paid cards and give the caller the PIN number you are being scammed. Anytime you are told by the
caller that you have won something, but you need to pay them, it is a scam. Scammers are always coming
up with new ways of tricking you into sending them money and most always is involving you purchasing
prepaid cards or sending cash by money gram.

2:48pm A reckless driver was reported on West Broad Street. The caller reported the vehicle was unable to
maintain a single lane. The officer located the vehicle at Broad Street and Pacific. The officer followed the
vehicle to the east loop, but did not witness a violation.

4:43pm A reckless driver was reported, traveling at a high rate of speed. The caller reported the vehicle tried to
run her off the roadway on South Pacific Street. The caller advised the vehicle pulled into a local business.
The officer attempted to locate the vehicle but it was not there upon the officer’s arrival.

4:51pm A business on South Pacific Street reported a customer was in the store and left. The caller reported they
thought the man was shoplifting in the store. Officers located the man that was walking after he went into
another store. Officers did not find the man in possession of any stolen property.

5:42pm A suspicious person was reported at a church in the 1900 Blk. Old Tyler Hwy. The caller reported the man
was looking in the windows. An officer responded to the call and found it to be the same man that was at
the business earlier suspected of shoplifting. The man had a family member in route to pick him up.

6:15pm A reckless driver call was reported driving erratically and was parked at Walmart. The caller advised the
driver was seen drinking alcohol. Officers investigated the call and found the man was not intoxicated.
