Thursday, October 11, 2018

4:06am An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle sitting at Hibbett Sports parking lot. The officer found that the female was waiting for a ride.

11:50am An officer assisted EMS with a medical call involving an accidental injury at the Mineola Motor Lodge on West Broad Street.

2:46pm A bank on North Pacific Street filed a fraud case involving a fraudulent check that was deposited. This is under investigation.

4:44pm An officer assisted with a welfare concern reported at the Andrews Center on Patten Street.

8:39pm Jose Isabel Cortes, 31, of Quitman was arrested for Driving While License Suspended w/ Prior conviction. Cortes was stopped on East Broad Street because the officer had knowledge his license were suspended.

9:25pm Loud vulgar music was reportedly playing at a residence on Krause Street. An officer responded to the area, but the music was turned down upon the officer’s arrival.

Friday, October 12, 2018

6:27am A suspicious person was reported on West Kilpatrick. A man was reportedly walking in the area and when he was asked if he needed anything, he sat on a resident’s porch. An officer responded and found to man that reported he was walking to get exercise, but he needed to sit down to rest. The man lived on another Street near the area.

8:50am A healthcare worker reported visiting a client on North Johnson Street and found the 39 year old man deceased. An autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace, Wes Criddle.

10:53am A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific. The caller reported the vehicle to be all over the roadway. An officer was able to find the vehicle on South Pacific. The driver was having medical issues and a family member was called to pick him up.

6:00pm An officer assisted the MISD Resource Officer when a 13 year old student made a threatening comment on a school bus. The officer went to the student’s residence and spoke with the student and the parents. The student advised he was just making comments he did not mean.

Saturday, October 13, 2018

1:01am An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle at the school on Patten Street. The officer found a juvenile in the vehicle and called the parents. An officer took the Juvenile to a guardian’s residence.

11:16am An officer assisted EMS on a medical call on West Kilpatrick Street.

1:40pm A verbal disturbance was reported at the Relax Inn on East Broad Street. An officer responded and found the situation under control. The argument was worked out between the two involved.

3:22pm An officer assisted a motorist that had driven through high water on West Broad Street and it caused the vehicle to stall. The officer pushed the vehicle out of the roadway.

4:06pm A reckless driver was reported when a witness reported a dark colored SUV turn off the roadway on North Johnson Street and into a yard. An officer responded and found that the vehicle went into a flowerbed and threw dirt on the front of the residence. The resident was not at home at the time, but the officer made contact with the resident. The vehicle, or the driver has not been identified.

6:49pm An officer responded to a complaint that a resident reported at the Mineola Health Care on Mimosa Street. An officer responded and spoke with the resident. No injury was noted by the officer.

9:44pm A resident on Meadowbrook reported someone had turned his door knob on the front and back door. Officers responded to the residence and patrolled the area. The officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

 

Sunday, October 14, 2018

4:18am Christus Mother Frances in Sulphur Springs reported a possible child abuse incident. This is under investigation.

10:03am A welfare concern was reported in reference to a man on a motorized wheelchair crossing the intersection at Loop 564 and North Pacific Street. An officer responded to the area, but did not locate the man.

1:33pm A resident on Inwood Street reported her husband was threatened by a neighbor. An officer responded and spoke with both parties. When the officer asked the neighbor for his ID, he gave the wrong name and date of birth. After some inquiring by a dispatcher, it was found that the man was wanted on a Gregg County warrant for a Probation violation, Driving While Intoxicated. Jason Edward Benjamin, 47, of Mineola was arrested for the Gregg County warrant and Fail to Identify Fugitive from Justice.

4:05pm Walmart requested an officer to criminally trespass a man from the store. The officer was able to get the man trespassed.

7:37pm A disturbance was reported on Sue Lane when a woman reported her boyfriend was throwing and breaking things in the residence and she had a small child in the residence. Officers responded to the residence and found the disturbance to be verbal only, however the two were separated for the night.

8:00pm An assault was reported on Karen Street. A woman reported she was assaulted by her two roommates, which consisted of an ex- boyfriend and her ex-husband. The woman reported the ex-boyfriend pushed her. During the investigation by the officer of what occurred he found that the woman had pushed the ex-boyfriend. No one wished to file charges and signed waiver of non- prosecution. A family violence report was filed.

11:23pm A resident on McWhorter Street reported hearing someone outside her residence. Officers responded to the area but did not find anything suspicious, however a neighbor was outside unloading a vehicle, which could have been the reason for the noise.

Monday, October 15, 2018

12:00am A woman requested an officer to criminally trespass her ex-husband from her residence on Read Street. The man was not there when the officers arrived and the complainant could not provide an address for her ex-husband.

12:58am An elderly woman on Peachtree Street requested an officer to assist in shutting off her alarm. An officer did respond and shut the alarm off.

2:52am A Ivey Street resident reported someone inside the residence. Officers checked the residence and the area and was unable to locate anyone.

4:22am An officer assisted EMS when a man called 9-1-1 from West Kilpatrick Street with medical issues.

7:18am A criminal trespass was reported when an ex-boyfriend entered a home without permission and had an argument with his ex-girlfriend that was staying with a resident on Pegues Street. The man was not at the residence when officers arrived.

9:49am A resident on Francis Street reported items missing from her front porch. The resident found the items the following day and notified the police department.

10:36am A woman requested assistance on a civil matter when she sold a vehicle to a man but he had not changed the registration in his name. The woman was explained this was a civil matter and what her options were.

10:42am An officer assisted when a tree fell on Inwood Street, which blocked the roadway and knocked down a power line.

11:28am A possible criminal mischief and theft was reported by a city employee at the water tower on NE Loop 564. During the investigation of the incident it was found that nothing was taken and no damage had taken place.

11:55am Officers assisted again on Inwood Street when another line was down on Inwood Street. The line was determined to be an AT&T line.

4:49pm Officers assisted a stranded motorist at the intersection of Pacific and Broad Street.

9:30pm A disturbance was reported on West Blair. Officers responded and found it to be verbal only. The parties involved were separated for the night.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

12:10am An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle sitting at West Broad and Johnson Street. The occupant reported he was playing a Pokémon go game.

5:27am Large pieces of metal was reported in the roadway on West Broad Street. The metal was removed and traffic proceeded.

8:33am The Andrews Center turned in property left at the facility. The property is known to belong to a client and contact has been attempted.

10:20am Officers served a Criminal Trespass Warning to a man for all MISD property.

1:19pm An officer responded to a bank on North Pacific Street in reference to forged checks. The offense was determined to be committed in another city.

8:54pm Officers assisted with a medical call at a business on East Broad Street.

11:04pm An officer assisted a business man on West Broad Street when his business was flooding.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

7:59am A report was filed involving a man that was hanging out and waiting for a teenager to get off work on North Johnson Street.

10:45am An officer assisted Wood County S.O. when Brookshire’s called and advised they had a man in the parking lot that appeared to be lost. It was determined Wood County was investigating a missing person from the Hawkins area. Deputies took the man home.

4:05pm A bank on North Pacific Street reported they had an elderly customer that needed to file a fraud report. An officer responded and filed a report. This is under investigation.

7:46pm An officer assisted a DPS trooper to find a vehicle with a possible intoxicated driver that had a 3 year old in the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

10:48pm A disturbance was reported at a residence on East McDonald Street. Officers responded and found the disturbance to be verbal only.
