10:25am An officer responded to MISD to take an assault report that one of the students reported. The assault was involving two parents fighting. The assault is believed to have happened at a home in Smith County.

1:37pm An officer met with a man that had a civil issue involving his vehicle. The man was recommended to take the matter to JP Court.

2:05pm A disturbance was reported at a gas station located on NE Loop 564. Two vehicles were reportedly attempting to pull up to the same pump and an argument ensued. One vehicle was gone upon the officers arrival.

2:48pm An officer spoke with a man about a custody issue involving his child. He was advised the issue is civil.

5:29pm An officer responded to a disturbance involving the custody of a child. The officer spoke with both parents about their custodial rights. The two parents were separated and advised their situation is a civil matter.

6:35pm A man reported that he was being harassed by phone to send money to an individual. The man was advised the call is a scam. The man was also advised to block the number and do not send any money.

8:08pm An officer responded to a business on West Broad when a custody exchange became a verbal disturbance. An officer spoke with the mother of the child and explained to her that the custody issue is a civil matter.

8:32pm A shoplifter was reported at Walmart. Cassey Bolton, 24, of Quitman was arrested for Theft $100 to $750. Bolton reportedly paid for merchandise in her cart, but had other merchandise in a handbag that she walked out of the store with.

9:33pm A stranded motorist requested assistance when he had a flat tire on West Loop 564. An officer responded to the call and assisted the man.

10:22am An officer responded to a residence to check the welfare of a student after she walked off campus. The student was fine and was with a parent.

11:59am An officer responded to a bank on North Pacific Street when a customer reported fraudulent transactions on their account. This is under investigation.

12:28pm A woman requested a welfare check at a residence on West Blair when she went to check on her son’s residence while he was out of state. It was determined that the landlord had rented the residence out to someone else.

4:23pm An officer responded to a suspicious vehicle call on Robin Street when a resident noticed a vehicle sitting in front of a residence for a while. The woman was waiting for the realtor to show her the house that was for sale.

5:03pm A reckless driver was reported that continued to pass vehicles on the shoulder of the road. An officer did make a stop on the vehicle at North Pacific Street and Greenville Avenue. The driver received a citation.

8:52pm A reckless driver was reportedly swerving and slowing down to almost a stop in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was reported to be headed toward Grand Saline on West Broad Street. Officers responded to the area, but did not locate the vehicle. Wood County S.O. was notified.

12:53am A resident on Giles Street reported she heard someone knocking on her door about an hour before she called. An officer responded to the area and spoke with the neighbors. The neighbors said they knocked on their own door to scare their kids.

1:23am A business on NE Loop 564 reported they found a baggy of Marijuana at the entry door. An officer responded and took possession of the Marijuana.

1:30am An officer responded to a business on NE Loop 564 for a report of a female looking into the windows of vehicles in the parking lot. The officer identified the female, but did not find an offense had taken place.

2:37am A reckless driver was reportedly driving eastbound in the westbound lane on East Broad Street. An officer responded to the area, but did not find the vehicle. Wood County S.O. was notified.

4:20am An officer assisted a Wood County Deputy on a medical call at South Loop 564.

6:57am A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street that turned on Bromberg Street. An officer responded to the area and found the described vehicle parked at a business on Bromberg Street.

7:16pm An assault was reported at a motel on East Broad Street. The male victim reported the male suspect was in a room at the motel and beat him up while he was visiting with the suspect. The victim also reported the suspect kept his phone and wallet. Officers responded to the call and found the victim had been assaulted with minor injuries. The man got his phone and wallet back, then decided he did not wish to file charges. A non –prosecution waiver was signed and a report was completed.  

8:10pm A reckless driver was reported by Wood County S.O. on West Broad Street, traveling eastbound in the westbound lane. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle but was unsuccessful.

12:11am A welfare concern was reported on North Newsom Street when a man reported he was attempting to get in contact with his estranged wife and children. Officers went to the location but did not make contact with her. When the man was contacted back with the status, he reported he had already spoken with her, but forgot to call the department.

1:10am A verbal disturbance was reported on Sycamore Street between two roommates. Officers responded to the location and spoke with the two. Both parties said they were fine and refused to separate for the night.

2:04am Wood County reported deputies were needing assistance at a convenience store on North Pacific Street with a man that was passed out in his vehicle. Officers arrived and was able to get the subject awake. Paraphernalia was found in plain view in the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted. James Michael Danna. 19, of Yantis was arrested for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance under 28 grams, when he was found in possession of two types of prescription medication, without prescriptions.

7:51pm Loud music was reported at a residence at West Broad and Graves Street. An officer responded to the call, but did not find the music to be too loud.

11:13pm An officer made a vehicle stop on North Pacific Street for a traffic violation and found two in the vehicle with warrants. Brenda Ann Regino, 37, of Mineola was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Tom Green County in San Angelo for Bond forfeiture on Criminal Trespass. Christopher Mora, 40, of Tyler was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Tom Green County for the same charge.

10:35am A credit card fraud was reported when a woman received a fraud alert that her Valero card had been used in Dallas.

12:34pm A debit card fraud was reported when a man reported he received a call indicating the caller was from AT&T. The caller advised him he owed a small balance. After giving the caller his debit card information he found several hundred dollars used on his card out of California.

1:02pm A bank on North Pacific Street reported an elderly customer came in to get money and after speaking with her it was believed to be a scam. An officer met with the customer and felt it was a scam as well. The information was forwarded to Smith County S.O. since the customer lived there.

2:22pm A man turned in a cell phone that was found in the roadway on North Pacific Street. The phone was returned to the owner shortly after.

2:47pm A man reported that he is being harassed and threatened by another employee’s boyfriend while at work at a business on North Pacific Street. The complainant was told to call the department if the man returns.

2:51pm An officer assisted EMS with a man that fell on North Newsom Street. The man was transported to the hospital.

5:38pm A disturbance was reported at a business on East Broad Street. When officers arrived a man was there that was intoxicated and causing a scene. Richard Alan Hatcher, 36, of Mineola was arrested for Public Intoxication.

7:13pm A day care center on North Newsom reported a man walking back and forth in front of the business. An officer responded and found the man to live in the area and was just talking on his phone while walking back and forth.

7:48pm A disturbance was reported on University Street. Officers responded and determined it was a verbal argument between an adult daughter and her father.

9:55pm A resident reported someone had been knocking on the side of her residence on Front Street and running away. Officers patrolled the area but did not locate anyone in the area.

10:31pm Officers assisted a stranded motorist at the Civic Center.

11:17pm An officer assisted a Wood County Deputy while on a traffic stop with three occupants detained on West Broad Street.

11:27pm An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle parked on Commerce Street. It was determined that the occupant of the vehicle was using WIFI.

12:16am A business on NE Loop 564 reported they had a group of people in the parking lot that were being rowdy. Officers responded to the location but found the subjects had left prior to the officer’s arrival.

2:05am A call was received from a female that requested an officer at a residence on South Newsom. Officers went to the location but the man that answered the phone said a woman was not there and no one called from there. Later in the morning officers went back to the residence and spoke with the man at the residence. Officers found that the woman called from another residence after she had left during an argument with the man. Officers spoke with the woman and she was fine.

4:42am A resident reported construction workers working at a lot next to her. An officer spoke with the workers, who stated they had a permit to be working that early.

6:37am An officer assisted a Game Warden when it appeared some property on CR 2810 could have a gate open from a break in. The officer checked the property and did not find any indication that a burglary had occurred.

6:28pm A welfare concern was reported in reference to an elderly man the neighbor had not seen all day on Giles Street. An officer checked on the man and he was fine.

11:55pm An officer went to a convenience store on North Pacific Street and witnessed an open container in a vehicle in the parking lot. While investigating who the driver of the vehicle was, the officer found the driver had multiple warrants out of Wood County. Kardarian Delaun Cooksey, 25, of Hawkins was arrested for Carrying Prohibited Weapon, Unlawful carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.

3:43am An officer assisted a State Trooper with a traffic stop on West Broad Street.

9:21am A sink hole was reported near the train depot. Texas Department of Transportation was notified. The supervisor reported he would contact Union Pacific.

9:32am A resident on East Broad Street reported feeling unstable. The man was transported to UT Health in Quitman for an evaluation by EMS.

9:33am A woman reported she received an application in the mail with her personal information on it from the Department of Education. With the application was a note asking her to sign the application. She was advised to not sign anything and place a watch on her credit.

2:23pm A reckless driver was reported on North Pacific. The vehicle was reportedly almost hit another vehicle. An officer did get the vehicle stopped on North Pacific Street. The driver was fine, with no signs of intoxication.

5:09pm Several callers reported a television in the middle of the intersection of Broad and Pacific Street that had fallen from a vehicle. An officer responded and got the television out of the intersection.

8:01pm A business on East Broad Street reported an attempted shoplifter. The clerk was able to stop the female from taking the items before leaving. The female was not there upon the officer’s arrival. The store requested a criminal trespass and was advised to call the department if the female showed back up, since she has not been identified.
