Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision to uphold President Obama’s healthcare law has caused controversy right here in East Texas, and all over the country.
Congressman Jeb Hensarling said in a statement yesterday that he is extremely disappointed by the Supreme Court’s decision.
“While I respect the Court’s ruling, I do believe it was wrongly decided,” said Hensarling. “I do not believe the federal government is empowered by the Constitution to mandate the purchase of health insurance, and I continue to believe that the president’s healthcare law is bad for our nation’s health and bad for our nation’s future.”
The Congressman is now asking for feedback from the 5th district of Texas. Hensarling is requesting questions and statements regarding how the healthcare law will affect his constituents.
The Congressman will visit the 5th district Monday for more feedback.
