A Quitman woman drowned late last week in Alabama while on vacation with her family.

Carrie Breding, wife of attorney Mark Breding, was swimming with her family in the Gulf of Mexico, off an Alabama beach, when she and her children were pulled into a strong current. The children were able to be rescued. Breding was pulled from the water, but later died at a local hospital.
