Van Zandt County authorities are searching this afternoon for a burglary suspect who has fled from deputies near Edgewood.

According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department, the burglary occurred on FM 1395 around 12:30 this afternoon.

One suspect fled on foot and was arrested. Another left the scene in a dark blue or gray stepside Ford F-150 pickup, traveling westbound on FM 1395.

Authorities say the suspect the suspect is a white male with tattoos on his left upper shoulder and neck. The suspect has a beard and was wearing a baseball cap.

A DPS helicopter has been called in to assist in the search.
