Ken Pearce announced today that he has filed to run for mayor of Mineola.
Pearce has served two terms as Alderman in Ward 2. He is a Certified Public Accountant with 30 years of experience. In addition, he has served as president of the Rotary Club of Mineola, treasurer of the Mineola Civic Center, Inc., and is also on the board of Mineola Development, Inc. He has been an active member of the community since coming to the area in 1997, and becoming a full time resident in 2002.
“I believe my background as a CPA gives me an understanding of the financial and managerial aspects of this city more than any other candidate”, he said. “In my time on the city council, I have worked hard to improve the infrastructure of the city as a whole, promote economic development, work with both city management and the other council members, and serve the citizens of my ward. My background, experience, and ability to work with the council will help me serve the citizens of this wonderful city.”
Mr. Pearce operates an accounting practice in Mineola. His professional experience includes positions in public accounting, industry, and ranching. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and a Certificate in Ranch Management from Texas Christian University.
