We were pretty excited to hear that a new movie about the life of Dolly Parton is in the works, but probably not as excited as 7-year-old Alyvia Lind, whom Dolly chose to play her as a child in the upcoming NBC movie Coat of Many Colors.
And as if it weren’t enough just to get the coveted role, Dolly delivered the good news to Alyvia in person. The curly, blond-haired cutie already has an impressive résumé of acting credentials, including the 2014 movie Blended, starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. But she couldn’t hide her excitement when Dolly made the announcement.
We can’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance between Alyvia and the portrait of Dolly on the cover of Dolly’s 1971 album Coat of Many Colors.
No release date has been announced for the movie yet, but we’ll pass along the details as they become available.
