1:06 a.m. A suspicious man was reported close to the street on West McDonald Street for a long period of time.  Officers talked with the subject who lived in the area. He returned home.

4:18 a.m. An alarm was reported at a business on North Pacific.  Officer checked all doors and windows and found it to be secure.  

7:12 a.m. An out of town man was involved in a disturbance at a gas station on East Broad. He became irate when they would not take two containers of diesel he had and dispose of it, so he could get gas in the containers. Officers spoke with the man and it was settled.  

10:17 a.m. A disturbance was reported via 911 on CR 2840 between a boyfriend and girlfriend and the girlfriend had left in the vehicle. Officers assisted Wood County by standing by in the area, looking for the vehicle.

1:01 p.m. A burglary was reported on Stone Street when a resident reported several tools stolen from the residence.

3:55 p.m. A disturbance was reported from Grand Saline involving a vehicle that fired at a business and was headed East on Hwy. 80. Officers stood by at the city limits, but did not locate the vehicle.

11:23 p.m. Several males was reported in the street by West Buchanan and Line Street yelling loudly while standing around a vehicle. Everyone had left prior to the officer’s arrival. Officers patrolled the area, but did not observe any signs of criminal activity.

1:14 a.m. Two individuals were seen walking around a building on West Blair.  Officers checked the area and located one subject inside the building. The key holder was notified and the officers spoke with the individual inside the building. The building was secured and the individual left.  

8:23 a.m. A business on East Broad Street reported telephone harassment when a subject repeatedly called the business unwantedly to talk with an employee. An officer made contact with the male subject and advised him to stop calling or charges could be filed.  He was verbally criminally trespassed.

3:08 p.m. A local bank reported check fraud when a man entered the bank attempting to cash a fraudulent check.  

3:33 p.m. A Bromberg Street business reported check fraud when several checks were cashed in the business name.

7:14 p.m. Thomas James Lennon, 29 of Alba was arrested on a Hopkins County theft warrant.  Lennon was stopped by an officer on South Pacific Street for a defective tail lamp.

10:01 p.m. Officers were asked to do a welfare check on a resident on East McDonald Street.  The resident talked with officers and willingly went with EMS.

12:15 a.m. A resident reported an electrical smell at his residence on North Johnson Street. An officer responded to the residence and checked the attic and around the residence.

3:47 p.m. A disturbance was reported at the Brookshire’s parking lot by a woman that was trying to back out and the vehicle behind her would not let her back out. The vehicle was gone upon the officer’s arrival.   

5:13 p.m. Stephen Ray Spraggins, 23 of Mineola was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.  Spraggins was stopped by an officer on North Johnson Street for a traffic violation.

7:40 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported on University Street.  Officers talked with everyone involved and the parties separated.

7:54 p.m. An officer was called to Autum Winds Assisted Living for a death investigation. An 82 year old female was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Tony Gilbreath.

12:02 a.m. The department received a reckless driver call in reference an SUV heading toward the city from Quitman and could not maintain a single lane of traffic. An officer made contact with the driver and did not observe any signs of intoxication.

12:36 a.m. Ashley Nicole Honea, 22, of Mineola was arrested for driving while license invalid.  Honea was stopped on East Broad Street for a traffic violation.

6:20 p.m. A resident on West Buchanan Street reported a welfare concern for his girlfriend, because he had not seen her in over 12 hours after an argument. An officer talked with both parties and no report was filed.

4:45 a.m. A man on Francis Street reported he was assaulted the day before by another male and he wanted to file charges. This is under investigation.  

11:57 a.m. City National Bank reported fraudulent checks that were being cashed on a local business. This is under investigation.

12:02 p.m. A criminal mischief report was filed when a Landers Street resident reported a sugary substance found in the gas tank of her vehicle.

1:15 p.m. A Landers Street resident reported a vehicle stolen, but the vehicle was found to be a civil matter.

2:12 p.m. A Phillips Street resident reported being harassed by a neighbor.  A directive patrol was issued.

2:47 p.m. A woman reported being threatened and cursed while at the laundry mat by an unknown woman.

6:42 p.m. A pursuit was reportedly heading into the city involving Van Zandt County. The vehicle was stopped at Loop 564 and Hwy. 69 South. Officers assisted while the suspect was placed into custody.

5:52 a.m. Officers responded to a man in the middle of the roadway yelling and swinging a boat paddle at East McDonald Street and Circle Drive.  The man stated he needed medical attention. EMS was contacted and he was transported to the hospital.

8:02 a.m. Kimberly Elaine Gibson, 58, of Hawkins was arrested for driving without a license and no insurance. Gibson was stopped for a traffic violation at the 300 block of East Broad Street.

1:16 p.m. An officer assisted Fire and EMS on a medical call on Meredith Street.

3:03 p.m. An officer assisted EMS and Fire on a medical call on Wren Street.

4:16 p.m. A suspicious man was reported walking around the North Newsom Street and Meadowbrook Street area.  An officer talked with the man who needed assistance leaving town. The man was given a ride by the officer.

6:35 p.m. A city ordinance violation of loud music was reported on Krause Street.  An officer patrolled the area, but did not observe the violation.

7:32 p.m. An officer talked with a resident on North Pacific about her options with criminally trespassing someone from her property.  No warning was issued at this time.

8:13 p.m. A suspicious man was reported walking around on Wren Street.  Officers made contact with the subject who was out walking the area, but was not doing anything wrong.  

10:19 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported at Wal-Mart when two subjects were arguing about a road incident. One subject stated the other almost ran her off the roadway and she felt like the subject was intoxicated.  Officers talked with everyone involved and found no signs of intoxication and the subject denied almost hitting anyone. The two did calm down after the officer spoke with them.

1:25 a.m. An East McDonald Street resident requested an officer to check their property for anything suspicious when their electricity went off, but no one else’s did. The officers patrolled the area and did not find anything suspicious.

6:57 a.m. A suspicious male was reported in the area of Wren Street while the children were waiting on the school bus. Officers attempted to locate the male, but they did not find him.

11:15am EZ-Mart reported a man inside the store upset, yelling and cursing the clerk.  Serval customers in the store were attempting to calm him down. The man was escorted off the property and criminally trespassed.

5:16 p.m. Reckless behavior was reported at the Nature Preserve when 3 vehicles were reportedly doing donuts in the parking lot and almost hit the complainant’s vehicle. The vehicles left and headed toward the city. An officer attempted to locate the vehicles but did not find them.

6:18 p.m. A mailbox was reportedly hit on Wren Street when a neighbor backed out.

7:31 p.m. An officer assisted a woman when her vehicle ran of fuel. The officer took her to the store to get fuel for the vehicle.

10:09 p.m. Officer assisted with a tree down and blocking the roadway on West Loop 564.

10:23 p.m. An officer assisted when tree branches were on the roadway on West Broad Street.
