The Mineola Lady Jackets battled the Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers in a district contest on Tuesday Night in Mineola. Both teams struggled to make baskets early in the game and the score was 6-2 in favor of Mt. Vernon after the 1st quarter. The shooting struggles continued for both teams in the 2nd quarter and at halftime the Lady Tigers led 14-6. Coming out of halftime, both teams began making shots. Mt. Vernon extended their lead to 27-18 at the end of 3. In the 4th quarter, Mineola fought valiantly, and cut the lead within 3 multiple times, but could never get closer than that. The final score was Mt. Vernon winning 41-33. For Mineola, Mylee Fischer made a living from the free throw line. 12 of her 16 points came from the stripe. For Mt. Vernon, Summer Rogers was the spark plug. She finished with 8 points, and 12 rebounds. Katelyn Dunavant added 16 points for the Lady Tigers including three 3 pointers.

The Mineola Yellowjackets and the Mt. Vernon Tigers competed in a district contest on Tuesday Night in Mineola. The Yellowjackets controlled the game from the opening tip. At the end of the 1st quarter the Jackets were up 16-6, and by halftime they had extended their lead to 34-15. Mineola scored 18 more in the 3rd quarter while holding Mt. Vernon to just 10 points and the Jacket lead grew to 52-25. The final quarter was academic as the Yellowjackets got their first district victory at 62-34. Hunter Vandover lead the way for the Jackets with 16 points, including being 4 for 5 from the 3 point line. TJ Moreland chipped in with 14 points of his own. For Mt. Vernon it was Jaden Horton leading the way with 12 points.
