The Rains Wildcats and the Grand Saline Indians took the court Friday Night and had an instant classic. Grand Saline controlled the majority of the game. The Indians ended the 1st quarter with a 15-11 lead. The Indians were able to extend their lead to 6 at halftime by a score of 29-23. Although Rains cut the lead to within 4 multiple times, Grand Saline still led by 6 at the end of 3 at 36-30. In the 4th Quarter, Rains got within 4 again, but Grand Saline didn’t allow the Wildcats to get any closer. With about 1:30 left in regulation, Rains was down by 5 at 42-37. Audie McAree nailed a 3 pointer and cut the lead to 42-40. Rains was able to tie it up at 42 points a piece, but Grand Saline had one more chance with 4 seconds left in the 4th. JT Rucker shot a 3 at the buzzer, but it was no good and we headed to Overtime. In OT, it was all Rains as they outscored Grand Saline 10-2 to win the game 52-44. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Audie McAree with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Beau Schellinger had 13 points and 8 rebounds. JT Rucker was dominant for Grand Saline with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 blocks. Justin Griffith lead all Indian scorers with 23 points.
