The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles and the Alba-Golden Lady Panthers battled in a district contest on Monday Night. The Lady Eagles struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning. Bella Romero led the inning off with a walk, followed by a single by Lauren Lewellen. Mattison Buster brought them both home with a 2 run double. Addi Monk then hit a triple to bring in Annie Franklin who was running for Buster. Cali Morris added a sacrifice bunt to bring in Addi Monk and the Lady Eagles led 4-0 after the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Judah Van Rijn led the inning off with a single, followed by a walk by Bella Romero. Mattison Buster cleared the bases once again with a 2 run double and Addi Monk followed that up with an RBI double of her own to give Como-Pickton an 8-0 lead after 2 innings. Megan Wallace of Alba-Golden was able to retire the next 7 Lady Eagles in a row to keep the score at 8-0. In the bottom of the 5th inning, Mattison Buster led things off with a solo HR and Alyssa Corona ended the game with a solo shot of her own and the Como-Pickton Lady Eagles defeated the Alba-Golden Lady Panthers by a score of 10-0. Mattison Buster led the way for Como-Pickton. She was 3-3 at the plate with 2 doubles and a homerun to give her 5 RBI’s. In the circle, she was just as dominant. She struck out the first 6 batters of the game, and 7 of the first 9. She ended the game giving up no runs on just 3 hits, while striking out 12. For Alba-Golden, the 3 hits came from Bailee Bishop, Kylie Kennedy and Erin Langston.
