The Lindale Lady Eagles and the North Lamar Pantherettes played Game 2 of the Bi-District Series on Thursday Night in Lindale. North Lamar struck first in the top of the 1st inning after an RBI single by Sloane Hill brought home Emma Layton. Emery Reaves also scored in the inning to give the Pantherettes a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the 1st, Lindale answered with 6 runs on 3 hits, including an RBI groundout by Jesika Miller and an RBI double by Kayli Vickery to give Lindale a 6-2 lead after the 1st inning. North Lamar answered back in the top of the 2nd inning, led by a 3 run inside the park HR by Hannah Kent. Emery Reaves also scored and North Lamar tied the game at 6 after 2 innings. In the top of the 4th inning, Sloane Hill gave the Pantherettes the lead with a 3 run HR and North Lamar led 9-6. In the bottom of the 4th, Darby Woodrum hit a sacrifice fly and Kayli Vickery added an RBI single which tied the game at 9 runs a piece after 4 innings. In the top of the 5th, North Lamar retook the lead on 3 runs with 2 hits and the Pantherettes were up 12-9. In the bottom of the 5th, Kayli Vickery hit a 2 run single and Merrick Gary scored as well to tie the game at 12 as we headed to the 6th inning. North Lamar took the lead again in the top of the 6th inning when Danika Heuberger and Madi Reeves came in to score and North Lamar was up 14-12. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Olivia Gary brought home Emily Myers on an RBI single. Jesika Miller hit a 2 run single to bring in Olivia Gary and Lili Miller and Ellie Watkins brought Jesika Miller home with an RBI double herself to give Lindale a 16-14 lead. The Lady Eagles held on in the 7th inning and took the victory over the Pantherettes by a score of 16-14. Leading the way for Lindale was Kayli Vickery. Vickery went 3-4 at the plate with 4 RBI’s. Jesika Miller added 3 RBI’s as well. Lindale forces a Game 3 which will be played Saturday (4/30) at 11 am at Sulphur Springs HS.
